Joan’s bad-ass attitude, delicious messo-soprano vocal range, cutting edge performances and her mix of hard rock, glam, punk and metal have always inspired me. Not to mention that fierce leather jacket and shag haircut.
I was inspired to record the song “New Orleans” because Joan Jett and the Blackhearts covered the tune about the legendary Crescent City on their 1984 album “Glorious Results of A Misspent Youth” and I absolutely loved it from the second I heard it.

You may know Joan Jett from her work with Joan Jett and The Blackhearts and the trailblazing tunes, “I Love Rock N’ Roll”, “Crimson and Clover” and “I Hate Myself For Loving You.”
Rolling Stone magazine named Joan Jett the Number 87th guitarist of all time. The Godmother of Punk belts it out on her Gibson Double Cutaway Melody Maker better than her male counter parts. This past April Joan Jett was wisely inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Wonder what took so long.
One of my favorite quotes of all time comes from Joan, "Girls have got balls. They're just a little higher up, thats all."
